GCI Testimonies

Many of our students are trusting God to do a work in their lives, allowing them to finish their degrees at Northland International University. These are not lazy students but hardworking individuals who are intent on fulfilling God’s calling in their lives. Would you consider partnering with us to assist them in the financial burden of their education in order to expedite their fulfillment of the call in their lives?

Below are a few testimonies about current students.

A Sophomore This Year

This is a young lady who knows how to work hard. Her family is from California, and she is the oldest of six kids. Mom and dad were so moved with the changes in her life during her freshman year that they were willing to make tremendous sacrifices at home to make the sophomore year happen. She works for a lady in their church who cleans houses, and she works odd jobs for others in the church in order to make the money needed to return. However, she will be short again this year unless another gift is provided. How the Lord will meet her need this year is still unknown.

A Returning Student This Year

His church is working to help him, his extension church is helping, mom and dad are scraping together what they can, and he is working on campus. Despite all financial aid resources, he may not be able to return in the spring due to finances; a large gift is needed for him to continue. The interesting part of his story is that he only intended to come for one semester. He got hooked, and now he doesn’t want to leave. The Lord continues to challenge him in his walk with the Lord, and it is exciting to watch.

A New Freshman This Year

I remember her family in particular because of her dad’s tears over how he was providing for his daughter’s fall semester. The spring will be a bit short, but her dad is trusting the Lord to provide the overtime needed to make the payment. He is a plumber by trade but does side work to bring in extra dollars. She is a hardworking, very nice young lady who is thriving in her freshman year!

A New Freshman This Year

Her father died four years and ago, and her mom lives off social security. She has a sixteen-year-old brother at home who requires a lot of attention from mom. She sews and cleans to make a little here and there when work is available. She has participated in every financial aid program available at Northland, yet it will still fall short. This is another young lady who knows how to work hard and is willing to do what it takes to stay at Northland. She is a walking testimony to the Lord’s working in a young lady’s life!
